Want to join our events but don’t know about the when, what, or where? This page contains some basic information about many of these aspects 🙂
Can I join your events if I am not from ETH or UZH?
Yes! While we mainly target ETH and UZH students and personnel, everyone is welcome to join and participate in our events! However, there are several prizes created solely for ETH and UZH students and personnel (e.g., title of University Chess King & Queen).
Where and when do your events take place?
Our events take place at ETH, usually during the evening (18:15-21:00). We organize around three tournaments each semester along with classes and a weekly casual chess evening, where you can come anytime and play some casual games. More information about our events can be found on our upcoming events page.
The room where we usually organise events is HG E41, a seminar room in the main building of ETH.
How can I stay updated on your events?
You can stay up-to-date by visiting our website or joining our WhatsApp community where we post all event updates.
Do I have to register for events?
Registration for casual evenings is not necessary, you can just come whenever you want. For tournaments, we require registration. The registration link will always be available on our registration page.
Are your events free to join?
All our events are free of charge. However, we do ask for a small voluntary contribution during our tournaments. If you appreciate our events, you can always support us this way to ensure we can keep organising amazing chess events!
Can I join the committee or help in the organisation?
Yes! We are always looking for motivated people wanting to help us out with the setup of tournaments or other administrative tasks. If you want to help shape the future of our club, feel free to reach out so we can discuss this!
